Are acne mediciations effective or safe as acne treatments?
Almost everybody gets acne to some degree or another in life. There are those that get acne so severely that they must have doctors prescribe a specific acne medication to treat their condition. This is only proliferated by the modern age where there seems to a 'drug' answer to every thing. The thing one must remember is that some acne medications may be harmful or have very unpleasant side effects.
Accutane (isotretinoin) is the most well known and perhaps most prescribed acne treatment and medication today. Accutane has serious impact on you physiologically, and must be monitored very closely.
Accutane increases the risks of birth defects if a woman becomes pregnant while using it. Women should wait a minimum of 30 days after stopping use of this acne medication before trying to become pregnant. Other acne medications can have such effects as increasing male breast size and causing other disturbing side effects. Its well worth it to ask your physician or dermatologist about what is best, and most importantly safest acne treatment and acne medication for you.
Acne medications such as tetracycline is another common acne treatment as well, but has its unpleasant side effects too.
Keep in mind there are many effective acne treatment solutions (both medical and natural) but you may wish to try an herbal or one made from natural sources.
