Acne Myths

Myth #1: Poor peronsal hygeine causes acne. Acne is not caused by dirt or surface oils despite popular belief. In fact washing or scrubbing too hard can make acne worse, and further irritate your skin. The best method for cleaning or washing is to do acne treatment - eat healthy graphicso gently with mild soap and water.

Myth #2: Acne is caused by junk food. "That greasy pizza is going to give you zits!" or "I can't have chocolate it will give me acne"...these are common cries, and they are not proven in any way. Now this should not in any way be free license to eat whatever you want, a healthy diet is very important to your overall health and well being.

Consult your physician to find out if the acne medications you may be taking have this side effect.

Myth #4: Acne is just a cosmetic disease. Acne is more than a mere cosmetic disease. It is true that outwardly it only affects how you look, but permanent scars and the social and psychological pressures inflicted by acne can be carried for a lifetime.

Myth #5: You just have to let acne run its course. Acne can be cured and cleared up, it should not be ignored. There is no reason why anyone should have to suffer through acne with the acne treatments and natural acne products available today.
